Lionhead studios’ creator Peter Molyneux has recently quit Microsoft and Lionhead on order to start a studio of his own. Molyneux is now free to talk to the press people regarding his experience as well as the reasons why he parted ways with Microsoft. He talked about Project Milo and Kinect where the truth regarding the cancellation of the project was partially revealed.
Project Milo is considered as a very ambitious project of Molyneux. The story design of Project Milo is an interactive one which would fully utilize the Kinect sensor where the gamers will become one with the characters and create a relationship which is fully emotional. In technical perspective, this project was very ambitious but the demo on E3 looks promising and great. But after the release of Kinect, the cancellation of Project Milo has followed which created a buzz about the project as a mere marketing stunt only which do not exist. Indications about the game’s existence as a full one and not as a technical demo only still circulates but the truth regarding Project Milo was never released.
According to Peter Molyneux, Project Milo has actually worked but the marketing or retail executives’ world was not yet ready for the project. Molyneux said that Project Milo is more than just a technical demonstration, and that the game already contains hours of game play and it was nearly finished.
This revelation of Molyneux about Project Milo has already proven the actual existence of the game as full one. This game was the first of its kind which was introduced by Molyneux at E3, a game which is nearly completed. The reasons behind its cancellation remain vague. It looks like that marketing reasons are the culprit behind the cancellation and not technically. Maybe that Molyneux has now created his own studio, project Milo will be realized one day. And when it arrives, a revolution in the industry might be triggered by Project Milo.
