sega’s first mascot was alex kidd (in miracle world). then they switched to sonic. turbografx first had bonk as its mascot, then switched to zonk, a character named by a reader who sent in to a contest to name the hero for turbografx’s new game, air zonk. i guess xbox has master chief as its mascot? sony’s crash bandicoot was a terrible failure. what a joke. are they still using him as their mascot? i think sony is more entertainment than video games.

Hey, thanks for the compliments. Yeah….I can’t really comment about the Virtual Console versions of the games as I don’t really download them for the Turbo. So, I’m not really sure how the controls would be.

Incredible review spida1a, I grew up playing this game and after i watched and during, my body was craving Bonks. I just got a Wii so this be will easy to get thankfully, I mean I checked Ebay and there are no TG16’s available. I tend to move alot so I lost my TG16.
I’m concerned mostly about the controls, because the wii controller doesnt have switches like the TG16 controller did to change the way the game was played. But it wont stop me from getting it. 5 stars.

I think it is a shame (and I mentioned this in my commentary on DVD) that Bonk wasn’t available at the system’s “launch.” I really think that identifying the Turbo with a mascot early ON would have helped tremendously. Instead, Bonk came around the next year (and by then…….it was almost a tad too late, you know?).

I play Bonk games a lot on my Turbo DUO(before it was stolen) I never owned the import copies but its said in I beleve Bonk 1(or another Bonk) that he had a power up makes him a Cavewoman in the japan copy.I have the remake Hudson Selection Vol. 3: Bonk’s Adventure for Gamecube and I play both Wii VC one and this one with the NES Retroport since the NES controller is close to the TurboGrafx 16 controller.
