I recently found out, that the reason NES’s need refurbishing, is because people actually use it wrong, you’re not actually supposed to push the game down, after inserting the game, that’s what bends the connectors inside, and eventually causes you to need to refurbish it, I don’t know if the manual says you’re supposed to do it or not, but it’s at least been found out later, that pushing it down, puts strain on the connector and eventually breaks it.
I just got an NES at goodwill for 8 dollars 😀
