I would say Portal, most people loved it and the “Cake is a lie” spread even way beyond the gaming community into pop culture.
But Dead Space? Ok fair enough it is a great game but best new IP is not how I would call it.

yeah, it still takes roughly 25 to 50 rifle rounds to properly kill ONE. even then, they were ambushed in a dark room in both games. Pulse rifles are basically the worse weapon from the the original, though i’ll give it bonus points for the secondary fire in dead space 2
They had the same weapons Isaac haves, which were pulse rifles. And some of them even have higher quality modified fire power. Besides, if you start shooting with pulse rifles everywhere, eventually it would start hitting off their limbs.
yes, BUT, the soldiers in dead space one couldn’t because they weren’t aware that you were supposed to cut off the limbs, something you’d wouldn’t be able to do very easily with a regular gun (though the sequels blow that out of the water) the soldiers in dead space 2 died for the same reason though, because they didn’t have cutting weapons.
