In a similar fashion to Mario All Stars from the Super Nintendo, Nintendo is bringing Kirby to a collection set of his own to celebrate 20 years of history as a floating pink ball. Kirby’s Dream collection is slated for a September release date and will feature the best of the Kirby franchise in addition to other special features that will have fans entertained for hours.
The Kirby Dream Collection is being slated as a dream come true for Kirby fans as it gives gamers a chance to own the best of the series on one compilation disk. Kirby’s Dream Land, Kirby’s Dream Land 2, Kirby’s Adventure and Kirby 64 are some of the games to be featured in the collection disk. Most of the games have already seen their release for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console, but the game will also offer 2 games that have not yet reached the virtual console, giving gamers a new opportunity to play classic games from a character that has now become a Nintendo icon.
In addition to the games being offered in Kirby’s Dream Collection is a soundtrack CD and a book of art, designs and stills from the Kirby games, tv show and their development.
Being released in September will put Kirby’s Dream Collection near the end of the life cycle of the Nintendo Wii as it is being replaced with the Nintendo Wii U which hits shelves late this year. Other notable franchises with anniversaries being overlooked for a celebration compilation disk includes Metroid. Its 25th year is upon us and despite being often overlooked, has a loyal fan base as its strategic game play and isolation themed plot has captivated players for decades.
Kirby’s Dream Collection can be yours this September to celebrate 20 years of Kirby in video game, comic books, tv and merchandise form, and his skill stealing abilities and to celebrate the end of the successful Wii’s life.
