My custom arcade cabinet – “Rainy Days”

admin September 28, 2012 25

So, after countless hours of work I have finally finished my 2nd arcade cabinet which I have decided to name “Rainy Days” (after all, it’s on rainy days you want to stay inside and play arcade games, right?). 🙂 This is a custom 2-player arcade/MAME cabinet with 7 buttons for each player, an arcade spinner, a 3″ arcade trackball and a dedicated 4-way joystick for classic games like Donkey Kong, Frogger etc. The cabinet features a 27″ Wells Gardner D9800 arcade monitor and an ArcadeVGA2 graphics card for authentic retro gaming. The complete worklog (with tons of pictures) can be viewed here: www.arcadeforum.com — Your comments will be appreciated a lot. Thanks for watching! 🙂 — Background music used in this video: Mongo Erectus – Commando (Kill all hippies version) – (from remix.kwed.org) Moonove – Thanatos – (from remix.kwed.org)

Gotta love them, “My custom arcade cabinet” even though everything except for the stickers and software was premade. Personally I’m disgusted by the structural design and I don’t get why people want to buy it at such a high price.

My friend thats what I tell you, with a crt tv and proper installation of soft15khz+cable,you dont just do the trick but make your tv a real arcade monitor(actually arcade monitors are tvs without tuners)but anyway its up to you.
Also, dont just rely on ultimarc, there are more other vendors which have bigger collection of arcade parts and are much cheaper.
Keep up your cool work and have fun 🙂

It’s huge and heavy, but it’s awesome. Too bad it’s out of production.
