My custom arcade cabinet – “Rainy Days”

admin September 28, 2012 25

So, after countless hours of work I have finally finished my 2nd arcade cabinet which I have decided to name “Rainy Days” (after all, it’s on rainy days you want to stay inside and play arcade games, right?). 🙂 This is a custom 2-player arcade/MAME cabinet with 7 buttons for each player, an arcade spinner, a 3″ arcade trackball and a dedicated 4-way joystick for classic games like Donkey Kong, Frogger etc. The cabinet features a 27″ Wells Gardner D9800 arcade monitor and an ArcadeVGA2 graphics card for authentic retro gaming. The complete worklog (with tons of pictures) can be viewed here: www.arcadeforum.com — Your comments will be appreciated a lot. Thanks for watching! 🙂 — Background music used in this video: Mongo Erectus – Commando (Kill all hippies version) – (from remix.kwed.org) Moonove – Thanatos – (from remix.kwed.org)

Show me a shop that sells them and I will go buy them (not 2nd hand). If it wasn’t for ROM extractions a lot of great, classic games would have been forgotten and eliminated. Original carts only last that long..

Hi Oyama. Yes, I’m aware that a CRT TV will do the trick (with either soft15khz or an arcadevga), but still, when you’ve tried a real arcade monitor then you won’t go “back” to a TV. An arcade monitor is a lot more authentic. 🙂 I was going to have balltops for the joysticks, but Ultimarc didn’t have them in stock by the time. Thanks for the feedback!
