PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720’s Visual Benchmarks to Inject GDC 2012 – Nick’s Gaming View Episode #66

admin October 8, 2012 25

PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720’s power to be shown during GDC 2012, Halo 4 prepares for its gameplay footage debut, the PlayStation Vita has been officially hacked, and more. Here we are just hours away from the largest annual gathering of professional video game developers, GDC, and as always, gamers can expect to hear several game announcements, see multiple tech demos, and more that cannot be predicted. With a strong focus on networking and learning more about video game development, GDC is one of the largest gaming events throughout the year and Epic Games is looking to make a splash by unveiling their latest engine, Unreal Engine 4. Projected to run on the Wii U as well as the next PlayStation and Xbox, those able to attend the briefing Epic Games has planned during GDC are in for a real treat. Unfortunately, those who are unable to attend the briefing live onsite at GDC will likely not hear or see what is to be shown immediately, as I explain on the show, but seeing that developers are beginning to show off their next-generation video game engines , interesting discussions should begin evolving within the industry. If that is not enough to spark anticipation for GDC 2012, Microsoft is set to show off four Xbox 360 exclusives set to launch later this year including Halo 4. In fact, rather than showing a teaser trailer as was shown during Microsoft’s E3 2011 press conference, gameplay footage from the singleplayer and multiplayer portions of the title is be expected. I’m pretty excited about the Vita hitting the 1M mark. Excellent accomplishment. I don’t yet have one but I will before MGS HD hits shelves… Anyway… I do not like anything to do with Homebrew or hacking whatsoever. I feel it hurts the gaming community and I applaud Sony for taking drastic steps to stop this.
