would you mind explaining how this video misses the point of making the game fun or what I say makes the game a burden? If that’s what you’ve taken from it, either I’ve miss explained something or you’ve misunderstood something. The closer a game world comes to being real, the easier the players can suspend their disbelieve, the longer they can hold that disbelieve, the greater they can interact with that world, the more fun they’ll have. Players should be rewarded to adding to that.

All of these discussions seem to miss the point of role playing to me. I think that first and foremost, people play to have fun, period. It’s not supposed – and I think Gygax would agree with me here, to be a burden to anyone. There is no wrong or right way to play an RPG…all that counts is that you and your gamers enjoy the experience. Peoples tastes are different, so games are different. I do give bonus xp for good role play or player contribution, but it is only an extra cherry the cake.

You actually are asking something rather difficult for me to address here. I’d have to watch your group in play to make any honest attempt at quantifying quality. But 1 objective quality in determining worth in a game is amount that is put into a game & that is by both GM & players. To your comment about fun, I agree no ones fun is better what I aim at is getting the max fun out of the time we play & my aim here is to share those tools with others for their consideration.

Yeah, I’ve heard you say that before about fun. That’s only part of what I’m talking about here though. I’m talking about quality, lack of work put into a game shows as does effort. I’d like to know what it is that makes you think you were just like me, so I can better understand your line of thought here. From watching your vids, it seems you have people showing up to play your games & you & they are enjoying themselves so I’m not attempting to say there is not merit to your play.
