If you want to say we have differing (equally passable) playstyles, I can agree to that. But don’t pretend even for a second that yours is superior. It won’t get you very far with me. I had enough of that 6 years back when I was the one saying it.

That’s right, I was just like you.

You know why I changed? It wasn’t fun anymore. If it’s fun for you, great. People should enjoy the hobby. But I’m pretty adamant that nobody’s fun is “better” than anybody else’s fun.

You get out of rpgs what you put into them. From what I’ve seen from your vids & comments, we have a great difference in the amount we are interested in putting into the game. I have a wife, son & work up to 80 hours a week for my job but I still make sure to find the time to get the games I run up to my standard. I cannot say it wouldn’t feel like work to you but I’ve never had a player complain, they seem to enjoy the level of immersion afforded by the experience.

Utter honesty: I have enough competition at work. On my off time I prefer leisure. Life is too short to run races that needn’t be run.

I find the concept of competing in RPGs to be completely counterproductive to the purpose of RPGs. While you would walk away from my “socialist” group, you’d have to pay me to be in your capitalist one. Because it would feel like work.

My 1st reaction to the notebooks was “Dude, I’ve got a job & 2 kids. I don’t even have time to edit my youtube videos.”

Thank you Tim, I’m glad you’re having some thoughts from my words.
