No, Hardmod is literally taking apart the system and modifying it that way, while Softmod is just installing unauthorized by manufacture software. Hacking and modding in general are the same thing.

i got the super nintendo one for 4 bucks at a flea market and i can say that they didnt change a think about the game on wii, not even the date it was made in the opening….. getting a super nintnedo and the original game alone would be cheaper then getting the wii one!

Hard mod? Soft Mod? Same thing really. Since homebrew channel is not manufacturer authorized by Nintendo, it is obviously a hack, since updates before wipe out a few hacks. Real good application. I have a hacked/softmodded wii too.
