It’s sad that this and the sequel won’t get a release because I absolutely loved both of them. The PSP Yakuza games definitely deserve a translation but unfortunately that is not likely considering the work that would have to be done and how little the PSP does for sales now.

im so gutted we never got this i love yakuza my fav games this gen and the very japanese games episodes are awsome keep up the good work SHENMUE IS ALSO AMAZING

Yes! Actually, beyond the added features and moves that come in each sequel, the game, at it’s core, plays pretty much the same throughout the entire series. The first one is still great now and they just get better and better as they go along (except Of the End and it’s awful shooter controls).
